After the joys of the Lark Ascending In Guildford Cathedral, we had a different sort of encounter with bird life at Romsey Abbey, where we appeared in the Brahms Requiem as guests of Romsey Choral Society. The Abbey played host to a family of Peregrine Falcons, and the chicks had fledged some weeks before the concert, which meant that the air around the location was full of flying falcons! Luckily, none of them interfered with the concert, but we had a wonderful time observing them during the interval between the rehearsal and the main event. A special treat.
