We greatly enjoyed returning to Farnham Maltings to perform this exciting programme with orchestra and soloists.
Following a very successful workshop on 15 January where we explored the Mozart Mass in depth we were thrilled to welcome new members who had joined us to sing this piece.
In addition to the four inspiring young vocal soloists who sang the Mozart with us we were joined by trumpeter Nick Budd, who performed the Haydn Trumpet Concerto. All five soloists were completing their professional studies in music and the audience was not disappointed hearing them!
We were also pleased to renew our acquaintance with the Chameleon Arts Orchestra, with whom we performed at our Autumn Concert in Alton.
The concert opened with the piece by Haydn that describes the "Frantic and Futile Anxieties" that plague our lives - a song for our times, perhaps? (But it has a happy ending...)

Waverley Singers to perform Bach Mass in Aldershot

The Waverley Singers will be performing Bach’s Mass in B Minor at St Andrew’s Garrison Church in Aldershot on June 18 at 7.30pm.

On April 3 the choir performed to a nearly packed house at Farnham Maltings, singing Mozart’s Mass in C minor with four young London-based soloists, Henna Mun, Hannah Crocker, Dafydd Jones and Edward Jowle. Also on the bill was talented young trumpeter Nick Budd playing Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto.
The choir is also holding an open rehearsal on April 28 for those who might want to take up a temporary membership offer to sing the Bach. Email membership@waverleysingers.com
